Alissar Taremi and Kaelyn Siversky founded Sisters on the Runway-UMass Division in September 2010.
Both have been with the organization since it's beginning in 2005 at Montclair High School.
Sisters on the Runway-UMass Division is currently planning its 2nd annual Spring fashion show
event for April 2012. All proceeds will be donated to Safe Passage, the local domestic violence
shelter in Northampton, Massachusetts.
Currently, the organization's presidents are Alissar Taremi and Candice Tong. Alissar and Candice
are involved in the intricate process of producing a benefit fashion show and running a student
organization at a school of over 20,000 students. The two are working closely with twelve board
members, including committee heads of Sponsorship, Fund-Raising, Models, Event Planning, and Marketing.
Since its first year, Sisters on the Runway-UMass Division has grown to a current organization
of over 350 members. They raised over $5,000 from the April 2010 show, and have bigger dreams
for this year. The organization is planning several fund-raising events, as well as community
outreach programming with Safe Passage to get members even more actively involved.
Sisters on the Runway-UMass Division is always looking for new members and new ideas.
Join Sisters on the Runway, and join the fight against domestic violence.
